Health equity exists when everyone has the ability to be as healthy as possible. Most health disparities affect groups marginalized because of race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, and/or geographic location. The negative impacts from the pandemic increase in vulnerable or high-risk populations. Individuals should be adequately screened for social determinants of health.
