Promote early mobility for prevention of thrombotic complications and to promote achievement of discharge criteria

Hip and knee replacement surgeries are associated with thrombotic complications leading to postoperative morbidity and increased length of stay. Mobilization as soon as possible after hip and knee surgery helps reduce risk of thrombosis. Mobilization also promotes achievement of discharge criteria, which reduces length of stay.
