Prone position

Proning is a recommended strategy used for persons with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) for the improvement of oxygenation. There is currently not enough clinical experience with this strategy to draw conclusions about its effect on long-term outcomes. It should not be used as a rescue therapy for refractory hypoxemia to avoid intubation in patients who otherwise require intubation and mechanical ventilation. Key words: Turn over, dyspnea
